There is also a large meeting room upstairs accommodating up to 60 persons. It has broadband Internet service available and is available for rent.
The museum gift items include; Charles Fishburne’s History of Cedar Key, John Muir’s 1,000 Mile Walk to the Gulf, silver clam shell jewelry, replicas of the Donax brooms made by Dr. John Andrews, son of the owner of the Standard Manufacturing Company, copies of old maps, cedar pencils and local cookbooks.
Museum hours: Open Sunday through Friday 1 to
4 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Admission: Adults - $1.00. Children – 50
cents. Monthly historic talks (3rd
Thursday at 10 a.m. held at the Lion’s Club from October through April except
December) are open to members and the public at no charge. Refreshments are
served. Family and individual membership dues are $20.00 per year and include free admission to the Museum, 10% off sales items and copies of our spring and fall newsletter. A Christmas party is held in December and an annual meeting in March.
